The club
What is BLAU Boat Club Barcelona?
A membership boat club. For a monthly fee you get access to a fleet of three boats in Port Olímpic to go sailing without having to buy a boat.
Where are the boats?
In Port Olímpic, Barcelona.
How many members are there per boat?
Twelve at most. Places are limited so the fleet is always there for you.
How many places are there?
12 BLAU Midweek places and 24 BLAU Full places. Once the limit is reached, new sign-ups close and a waiting list opens.
The membership
What memberships are there?
Two. BLAU Midweek, to sail Monday to Friday, and BLAU Full, to sail all week, weekends included.
How much does it cost?
BLAU Midweek costs €260 a month and BLAU Full €320 a month. All prices include VAT.
Is there a joining fee?
Yes, an initial joining fee: €500 for BLAU Midweek and €600 for BLAU Full.
How long does membership last?
The contract is annual, 12 months, with a fee paid every month.
What is a co-member?
Both memberships include a co-member, so you can share it with a friend.
Bookings
How often can I go sailing?
As many as you like all year round, with up to three active bookings at a time with BLAU Full (two on weekdays and one at the weekend) and two with BLAU Midweek.
How many active bookings can I have?
With BLAU Full, up to three at a time: two on weekdays and one at the weekend. With BLAU Midweek, two on weekdays. When one ends, you can make another.
Can I sail at weekends?
With BLAU Full, yes: on top of your 2 active weekday bookings, you can have 1 active booking on Saturday or Sunday. BLAU Midweek is Monday to Friday.
What happens when a booking ends?
That space frees up and you can make a new booking, subject to availability.
How many slots are there?
Three slots a day.
Can I combine slots?
Yes. You can join two consecutive slots and spend practically the whole day at sea.
On board
Is a deposit required?
No.
Is fuel included?
No. Fuel is paid by the member.
Do I need a boating licence or qualification?
Yes. You need the appropriate boating licence and your documents in order.
